Since the beginning, this website has been an entirely volunteer effort. We appreciate any collaboration and volunteer contributions, and we show our appreciation on our colleagues page here.

 

Volunteering your skills to get yourself known is a good strategy for building networks and finding work in this fast-growing emerging field of economics. Our biggest need now is for programmers interested and able to develop applications for Facebook and other social networks, as well as Flash programming and social marketing.


Language Translator

 

Position Title: Language Translator  

 

Overview: The Complementary Currency Resource Center is an International Resource, therefore we are making every effort to make our services available in as many languages as possible. We are looking for people with translation skills from English to French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German, Thai, Indonesian, Japanese, Chinese and other languages for the translation of the ccDatabase, important documents and web pages.

 

Translator Responsibilities: • Receive information regarding translation from the Project Coordinator. • Login to the Website and translate using the WordPress Translation System

 

Desirable Qualities: • Some familiarity with the different types of complementary currency systems. • Ability to work in a team-based international environment, usually via email. • An interest in language translation and the development of new multilanguage facilities for the internet. • Interest in broadening the understanding of complementary currency systems into other languages.

Internet / Database / Systems Programmer

 

Position Title: Programmer  

 

Overview: The Complementary Currency Resource Center is a WordPress and php/mysql driven website, custom-built by Albert Fløde. We need people with a variety of programming skills, most urgently in php / mysql, to help with this website and collaborate on open source programming projects related to Complementary Currency systems. One important goal we would like to achieve is the creation of a Facebook App which utilizes reciprocal exchange or complementary currency theory.  

 

Desirable Qualities: • Experience in programming in php, mysql, java or other languages. • Familiarity with the different types of complementary currency systems. • Ability to work in a team-based international environment, usually via email. • Interest and ability to work with program designers.

Regional Coordinator

 

Position Title: Regional Coordinator

 

Overview: The Complementary Currency Resource Center is an International Resource, therefore we are making every effort to make our services available in as many languages and countries as possible. We are building an international team of motivated Regional Coordinators to help bridge the language and geographical obstacles in the complementary currency movement. The Regional Coordinators have a wide range of tools at their disposal to bring together and mobilize the CC systems in their countries, such as websites, discussion groups / mailing lists, groupware / wiki, etc.

 

Desirable Qualities: • Familiarity with the different types of complementary currency systems. • Ability to work in a team-based international environment, usually via email. • An interest in the international complementary currency movement. • Interest in broadening the understanding of complementary currency systems into other languages.   Contact the Project Coordinator for more information about this position.


Social Marketing and Promotions

 

Position Title: Social Marketing & Promotions Coordinator

 

Overview: Our concept, approach and results have been generating a lot of attention lately. We need a Social Marketing and Promotions Coordinator to turn that attention into interest, desire and action. We’ve already done a lot of work on this, but to be effective we really need someone with actual skills in this field, in regular marketing as well as in social marketing or cause-related marketing.

 

Desirable Qualities: • Experience in developing marketing campaigns, promotional and fundraising materials. • Familiarity with the different types of complementary currency systems. • Ability to work in a team-based international environment, usually via email.

Open CC Library Coordinator

 

Position Title: Library Coordinator

 

Overview: The ccLibrary is the largest repository of documents on complementary currency systems. It is a multi-lingual library which encourages contributions from all types of complementary currency systems from anywhere in the world. The ccLibrarian is responsible for the maintenance of the ccLibrary, located at www.complementarycurrency.org/materials.php, and the ccGallery, located at www.complementarycurrency.org/gallery.php.

 

Responsibilities:

• Receive documents and references from contributors.

• Search other sites for useful references to add to the ccLibrary and ccGallery.

• Create and update categories to reflect present and future information organization.

• Collaborate in the promotion of the ccLibrary as a central repository for useful information about Complementary Currency Systems, and the ccGallery as the place for useful images.

 

Desirable Qualities: • Experience in information management and organizing. • Familiarity with the different types of complementary currency systems. • Ability to work in a team-based international environment.   Contact the Library/Gallery Coordinator for more information about this position.


Curriculum Development and Online Learning

 

Position Title: Curriculum Developer

 

Overview: A few years ago, we started work on an online learning course in Complementary Currency Systems using the excellent open source program Moodle. We have a rough course outline and the materials, we just need someone to put it together.

 

Responsibilities: • Familiarization with Moodle or another online learning program. • Receive present course outline, access to materials. • Develop Curriculum and course for implementation.

 

Desirable Qualities: • Familiarity with the different types of complementary currency systems. • Ability to work in a team-based international environment, usually via email. • Familiarity with Curriculum Development and Online Learning.
